This years South Island forum was held in Christchurch on Wednesday 3rd August, hosted by Connetics and facilitated by Brian Campbell.

Brian Campbell, Principal Design Engineer at Connetics

Brian is a Principal Design Engineer with Connetics having been involved in the industry for many years, firstly as an Electrical Apprentice with the Waitaki Electric Power Board and later with Aurora.  Brian has specialized in Overhead Distribution and Sub-Transmission design for many years for Orion, Aurora and PowerNet.  A firm advocate for limit state design methods, Brian is continuously challenging the “This is the way we’ve done it before” mindset.  Recent projects include the design of dual circuit 33/11 spans of up to 700m, new steel poles utilized by Aurora during their high intensity maintenance program and the Halfway Bush – Berwick line rebuild.
