As a constantly evolving and advancing industry, managers, engineers and technical staff need to keep up to date with the latest in technical issues and best practice. The EEA offers a number of professional development courses and workshops that improve the quality and efficiency of work within the electricity industry, develop specific skills and expertise and equip individuals with the tools they need to succeed in the electricity supply industry.

The EEA also organises the Annual Awards which include the:

  • Professional Development Award

The Professional Development Award recognises character, leadership potential, social skills and academic achievements and the winner receives overseas travel to a relevant professional development course.

  • Young Engineer of the Year Award

The Young Engineer of the Year Award recognises their contribution to our industry. The Award is presented to a young engineer who is judged to have demonstrated great achievement and leadership within the electricity supply industry, community and stakeholders.
