COVID-19 information

The Electricity Engineers' Association (EEA) is committed to supporting efforts to eliminate COVID-19 from New Zealand, and we continue to work with and for industry throughout Alert Level 4 and beyond.

The electricity supply industry is essential for ensuring our communities, businesses and public services continue to thrive. We will continue our work with and for industry so that this essential service is provided to New Zealand safely and reliably.

We continue to liaise with regulators. The consistent theme in our recent conversations with regulators has been one of support for our industry's essential services to New Zealand. They acknowledge that this unique circumstance means that greater flexibility is needed in how and when regulatory obligations are met. Of course, this does not provide an excuse where obligations can reasonably be met. For further clarification on specific issues, please get in contact with us.
