The EEA is committed to providing the New Zealand electricity supply industry with expertise, advice and information on technical, engineering and safety issues affecting the electricity industry.

To do this we work with and represent over 76 Corporate Member organisations and more than 550+ individual professional members. These include Chief Executives, senior engineering/technical managers, engineering and field staff, health and safety managers working in network, generation and electricity retail companies, contractors, consultants and equipment suppliers.

The issues we cover focus around engineering, technical and health and safety and the EEA provides an 'electricity supply industry voice' to the Government, regulators, stakeholders, professional bodies and the media.

The EEA also provides an extensive range of publications for the industry and public use, including technical & safety guides and standards, safety and asset management resources, industry reports and links to relevant legislation and international information.

We actively represent New Zealand in the national and international Standard development process and facilitate bench-marking in safety and asset management. EEA also organise professional development training for industry staff, and have developed close relationships with a number of New Zealand, Australian and United Kingdom power engineering schools and safety training providers to offer leading edge professional development training and resources to New Zealand engineers.

EEA also provide an independent forum to enable debate and engagement on industry, engineering, technical and safety issues. The EEA Conference, regularly hold courses and workshops, are important events for engaging with members and other industry stakeholders.

An important part of the EEA's communication strategy is the provision of regular web based information: notifications, newsletters, guidelines and support documents; an online document development process; online event registration; raising the profile of electricity industry infrastructure engineering careers and providing other membership services.
