In the year to 31 March 2005, the EEA has continued to focus upon its core technical, engineering and safety activities, and put considerable additional focus upon meeting the professional development requirements of its engineers, members and the wider industry. The EEA has continued developing its role and markets as an independent national body, and continues to grow, with more activities and participation than ever previously experienced.
In developing their Strategic Plan, the EEA Board recognises that the electricity supply industry is facing additional legislation and regulation, increased scrutiny on safety and development plans, and shortages of suitably qualified people. Overlying all of these issues is a greater level of public awareness of electricity and energy matters.
